A video case study produced by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) demonstrates how Youth Achievement Awards support young people to gain formal recognition for their non-formal learning.

The video features young people, youth workers and teachers from Girvan Academy and South Ayrshire. Their peer education project, which involved individual personal development plans, enabled young people to develop responsibility, confidence and communication skills whilst gaining a Platinum level Youth Achievement Award.
Youth Scotland's partnership with SCQF has been vital in ensuring young people gain the greatest value from their participation in these non-formal learning Awards. Youth Achievement Awards are credit-rated and levelled on the SCQF by the SQA, at Level 4 (Bronze), Level 5 (Silver), Level 6 (Gold) and Level 7 (Platinum).
This video is part of a series of case studies demonstrating how SCQF benefits non-formal learning opportunities and help support learners, employers and employees.
