Youth Scotland offers a range of credit-rated awards that can act as a framework to record and recognise young people’s achievements.

Youth Scotland Awards

We have three different awards that children and young people can complete: the Hi5 Award, Dynamic Youth Award (DYA) and Youth Achievement Awards (YAA). All awards are credit rated and levelled on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF), which means they can be compared to more formal qualifications such as those gained at college or school.

Hi5 Award
The Hi5 Award brings Youth Scotland’s celebrated approach to youth awards to the 5+ age group. The Hi5 Award is accredited at SCQF Level 2.

Dynamic Youth Award
Youth Scotland's Dynamic Youth Award (DYA) is an individual learning award that provides a framework to support quality work with young people aged 10+. The DYA is accredited at SCQF Level 3.

Youth Achievement Award
A Youth Achievement Award (YAA) is a nationally recognised Scottish Qualification Authority customised award for young people aged 14+ which provides a means of recording and evidencing their wider learning and achievement through a formal qualification. The YAA is accredited at SCQF Levels 4-7.

Awards Training
Youth Scotland offers online training for Hi5 Awards, Dynamic Youth Awards (DYA) and Youth Achievement Awards (YAA). This training is highly recommended for anyone interested in supporting young people to gain a Hi5 or DYA, and a requirement for anyone who will be supporting YAA.
