Resources and training

Youth Scotland has a number of training options and resources to help the delivery of the Hi5 Award

Youth Scotland offers introductory training events for Hi5 and Dynamic Youth Awards. This training is not a requirement but is highly recommended for anyone interested in supporting young people to gain a Hi5 Award.

The introductory training provides workers, teachers, parents or any interested party with an understanding of the Hi5 Awards and how they can be used as part of existing or new activities to recognise and accredit young people's achievements.

Upcoming training dates:

29 May 2019 - Edinburgh

8 July 2019 - Edinburgh

9 September 2019 - Glasgow

14 November 2019 - Edinburgh

Youth Scotland has a Hi5 activity and games toolkit available to purchase. This handy and young person friendly resource is packed with 50 fun games and activities young people will love and can be used to set Hi5 challenges themed around physical activity.

There is also a STEM activity toolkit with 50 fun science, technology, engineering and maths activities to be run in youth clubs and schools. This can be used to set Hi5 challenges themed around STEM.

There is also an arts activity toolkit with 25 arts and crafts which can be used with children and young people of different ages.

I gave the toolkit to new leaders in a Brownie unit who hadn’t been involved with youth work before. The leaders used the toolkit to run fun activities and now the Brownies regularly ask the leaders for the toolkit and use it to choose and lead their own games.

You can order the Hi5 toolkits using the form below.
