Introducing the updated National Youth Work Induction Checklist
A refreshed National Youth Work Induction Checklist was launched as part of the 2024 National Youth Work Conference taking place in Glasgow on 5 November.
Youth Scotland has been part of the team who created and have now refreshed this Checklist, which strives to ensure youth workers and volunteers in Scotland are prepared to meet the complex needs of today’s young people.
Ready for Youth Work – practical, accessible companion to the Checklist
To support our member groups and partners in meeting the updated induction requirements, we’re excited to roll out an expanded offer of our Ready for Youth Work course.
This practical course (SCQF Level 3) is the first step on Youth Scotland’s accredited learning pathway and ensures that both youth workers and volunteers have the necessary skills to plan, deliver and evaluate youth work sessions, become a trusted adult and create a safe space for young people.
This training is now available for free to our members as an in-person session in locations across Scotland, as an online session and (very soon) through an e-learning module. You can find upcoming dates and book your place through our Eventbrite:
We are also able to offer ‘Train the Trainers’ sessions if you wish to deliver Ready for Youth Work within your own organisation (contact us to find out more).
