About the project

Scotland: The Big Picture enlisted Youth Scotland to recruit and train a steering group of young people from across Scotland to help shape their youth advocacy strategy and create a communications plan to make more young people aware of rewilding. 14 young people met across two residential weekends, and following the iLead pathway they consulted on a suite of resources from Scotland: The Big Picture, while also building up their skills in leadership, communication and team building and gaining a Dynamic Youth Award (SCQF Level 3).

Youth Advocacy Strategy

The steering group reviewed 5 booklets and short films on different areas of rewilding, sharing how they thought these resources could be made more accessible to young people from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who might not have engaged with the concept of rewilding before.

Communications Plan

The steering group spent time devising creative ways to involve young people with the rewilding campaign. This included innovative uses of social media, considering key strategic partnerships, and thinking of engaging activities to bring to young people in the community.
